A Hyundai dual-clutch transmission (dct) lawsuit alleges the 7-speed automatic transmissions in 2018 Tucsons have defects in the transmission control modules that cause vehicles to stop moving. A transmission control module is an electronic mechanism that collects data and processes signals within Your transmission to regulate the transmission's gear shifting. Without this mechanism, Your transmission wouldn't be able to shift gears effectively and consistently. Some of the most common signs of a bad transmission or control module include: Stalling between gear changes, failure to change gears, transmission not downshifting when Youre at a stop, the car is stuck in neutral and transmission not upshifting when You accelerate.

I have a 2018 with 28k mi on it. I am having a problem with transmission from 1st gear. If I and sitting in traffic and go, the car seems to stutter in 1st and 2nd gear. I was in the drive thru line at chick Fil a and started to move forward the car wouldn't go... It almost bounced and jerk forward repeatedly. I am taking it in next week. There is definitely an issue.

Yep. Mine has 20k miles and it did same thing. Hyundai repaired under warranty. 2 months later seems ok. Not convinced yet though.

I had the same problem of the Shuutering from stop. They finally replaced the clutches at 90,000 after complaining of issue since 30,000. They always said it was not bad enough to warrant fixing. I am now at 111,000 and Shuttering is already starting again. They are looking into it again to see if they need to replace transmission.

Agreed, this tranny is a P.O.S..So many time I haverilled through a turn andpunchedit as car was coming...it does nothing but redlines and sticks there. In the snowit goes however, if at astopsign or light and slightly even hit the throttle it can not decide what its doing, lundges, revs, stalls jumps???? The MPG is not good for 1.6 turbo 20 21city 27 hwy 23 combined. I have friends with subarus getting 29 and 33. Hell the ford f150echoboost V6 gets 21hwy. Other then that the fit and finish comfortable good. I will not be getting another rig with a dual clutch absolutely dumb idea. Oh and bring back CD players mfgs.??even if an option.

Since the beginning, I've been encountering persistent issues with the front light. Over the course of five years, I've had to replace the light six times. The current cause for concern is that just before reaching 100,000 miles, the engine started exhibiting problems. It's producing more noise than usual, experiencing delays in changing gears, and noticeably losing power on hilly roads to the extent that I have to switch lanes to avoid potential accidents. Upon contacting the dealership in Gastonia, NC, I was informed that the diagnosis would take anywhere from 2 to 10 days. Unwilling to wait, I paid $100 for another service company to conduct the diagnosis. Their findings revealed that the transmission needs to be replaced, with an estimated minimum cost of $4,000. I then took the car back to the dealership, rented a car in the meantime, and am currently awaiting their assessment, given that the car now has slightly over 100,000 miles. Hopefully Hyundai will cover the costs.
