The 2018 Mazda CX5 does have rear air vents standard. These are controlled via the temperature on the driver's side of the dual climate control vent zone, and the second zone only controls the air on the passenger side. Rear climate vents have become very common over the years especially in SUVs. SUV's have so much cabin air space that You need the extra vents to be able to cool all of the air in the car. The vents at the backseat are not as strong as the ones in the front seat though so they are meant to work more supplementally rather than be used entirely to cool the back seats alone.

The 2018 Mazda CX-5 Touring package includes heated front seats, 6-way power adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air condition vents and two rear USB ports for charging smartphones or tablets.
