The Chevrolet Camaro comes standard only with rear wheel drive, there are no all wheel drive or front wheel drive variants avaialble. When Chevrolet reintroduced the Camaro line they wanted to keep with the heritage which is why they kept it rear wheel drive. Rear wheel drive is used in more sporty and high performance cars because it reduces torque steer while driving. A car that has all wheel drive may be able to launch better than a rear wheel drive car, but You get added weight as well as steering problems sending power to the front wheels. Chevy did the right thing here to keep the sporty feel of thE-Classic cars right by keeping it rear wheel drive.

The iconic Chevrolet Camaro comes with two drastically different engine sizes for 2018. The available 2.0 liter engine trims, 1LT Turbo automatic, 2LT Turbo manual, 1LS Turbo manual, whether they are a coupe or convertible, all have rear wheel drive. The much larger 6.2 liter engine Camaros are all manual transmission and all their trims, 2SS, 1SS and ZL1, whether coupe or convertible, have rear wheel drive.

I agree! Had a mustang a long time ago and had to put cinder blocks in the back to keep it from sliding off the road which it did just getting out of my driveway. As long as I live in the North, there is no way I would buy another rear wheel drive.
