Does the ford ecosport have a brake problem?

When backing up my 2020 Ford Ecosport the brakes grind/ squeal. I looked at the rear brakes and found when I did a rough measurement that I could not place my finger between the rotor and the caliper on both side of vehicle. I tried the same thing on the front brakes and found I could insert my finger between the rotor and the caliper on both front rotors which doesn't make sense due to the fact that the front brakes should be wearing more if adjusted properly. Took vehicle back to dealership and had them inspect it and they heard the noise upon initial moving of vehicle but then will not make the noise after that and stated the pads were wearing normally. I feel they need to replace the pads and adjust brake system now before they destroy the rotors and other parts, then claim abuse. This vehicle has 2800 miles on it and I am concerned I will be charged for brake replacement when the vehicle is clearly having an adjustment issue or they just put very cheap parts on this vehicle or have to readjust brakes.

If Ford dealership don't want to fix the problem right,call the attorney General office and THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, my 2020 Ecosport has 5900miles,my rear brakes scream when I back out of my garage,I bought mine Nov 28 2020,the service guy told me today,second time in two weeks that their was nothing wrong and I was going to have to deal with it,it has condensation on the back breaks,I said why isn't the front ones screaming, I guess he did not know what to say,iam not eating this!

My 2018 ecosport has squealing brakes since day I bought it less than 10,000 miles. I’m now at 22,000 changed front pads about 2 months ago was better for a few days now worse than before. Squeals backing up and now when I stop going forward. It’s so embarrassing!!!!

I just took my vehicle in to the dealership for the growling of the back brakes. Was told Ford was aware of and says that it is an acceptable problem. What does that even mean. I only have 12,500 miles on it. I scared everyone at the bus stop today. This is VERY UNACCEPTABLE.

2020 EcoSport bought in May 2020. I had warped rotors replaced 3 days after I drove off the lot. I have been dealing with the dealership for 10 months on this. Of course no one believed me until they saw the brakes smoking. New pads put on yesterday and squeal sounds worse this morning than before. Anyone ever get any resolution on thier problem for this?

My ecosport 2019 same brake problem as above owners, we should not have to accept the noise as normal, what is Ford doing about it?

Have had problem with the screaming brakes since day I bought the cat only when 1st backing up. Then after a few minutes stops. Especially when car has not been driving for awhile or it’s cold weather. Had been checked several times. Nothing found. So must be the model flaw however no others problems. Love the car!

The ford ecosport has been reported to have some sort of a brake problem which is grinding of the brakes. The brakes make a very loud noise when they're grinding, and this could potentially be because of the friction wearing off the brake pedals. Hence, this vehicle has this very common brake problem.

We bought a new 2018 Eco Sport. At 18,000 miles it starting making a horrendous sound when backing up & braking. We had it to the dealer 5 times. He last time they turned all rotors and replaced all brake pads. Though not as bad we still have a noise when backing & braking. Ford can't fix it.

I have a 2018 eco sport. Have the backup noise since I bought it. It’s when it sits for awhile. Or lately when it s cold. Goes away immediately after driving. So I guess it’s sounds like a flaw with these cars. Nothing has ever been found wrong

Oh wowww i do relate to those complaints about eco sport break issues...cause that what is my problem now...

Have a 2020 Ecosport and yes it does appear to have some sort of rear brake pad issue. I hear metal on metal noise braking sometimes. I think possibly the calipers are not floating like they should all the time. I have read several comments about Ford dealers replacing rear brake assemblies but if they are actually replacing them are they with improved parts or just the same? Many say the problem returns a few months later. Yes, I agree they are probably not of the best quality. I would suggest paying for good quality aftermarket parts to see if the problems resolve.

I was driving my 2018 Ford EcoSport today and the brakes went completely out when I tried to stop at the stop sign.. No warning.. Nothing.. Just all of a sudden.. No brakes at all

Same here drove it off the lot a couple days later got née brakes and rotors that was a year ago and it had no miles on it now doing it again! Ugh

I have the same problem with my 2020 Eco Sport on had the vehicle for 4 months only 1924 miles on it,yes it cheap parts
