I wouldn't say that there's a significant, if any, increase in typical starting difficulties with the Ford EcoSport versus any other make and model; it's prone to many of the same common issues that other vehicles are, but they don't occur at a higher rate of incidence. From time to time, You may run into difficulties like a dead key fob battery, a discharged vehicle battery, a failed alternator, a broken starter, an empty gas tank, or a tripped immobilizer -- but this is true of any vehicle. If You're looking to evaluate how the Ford EcoSport stacks up to the competition with regards to starting, I would feel it's safe to say that it's on par with other vehicles: no better, but certainly no worse.

The battery in cold conditions needs regular trickle charging especially if not driven on a daily basis.

There are many possible reason a a ford ecosport might not start. There would be a problem with the battery or the battery cables, the starter, the fuel system, or the smart key.
