The Ford Edge adaptive steering does have a recall for the 2015 and 2016 years. The power steering fluid needs to be changed every 75,000 miles. Along with changing fluids, You will come across noises from steering parts. A loose bearing will become annoying to the ear. A faulty bearing will make a nasty sound. Having great steering is important for changing lanes and moving about on the road. You will eventually come across some problems though. The steering pump can become loose and that will be disaster for Your vehicle. The strut bearings may become bad. The rack mount can become faulty. Steering fluid can leak at one point. It may turn to one side. The steering wheel can become stuck.

A recall was issued for the 2015 and 2016 ford edge equipped with adaptive steering. The steering wheel must be replaced since the connector's wire terminal plating is prone to defects, disabling the adaptive steering and misaligning the steering wheel and prompting "fault" and "service required" messages.

Hi Curtis, Would it be enough if I swap connector's wire terminal? I have a Forde edge 2016 but I didn't get a recall. That means I should solve this problem. I called my dealer, only the steering red costs 1500 usd without a motor and without a connector's circuit board. Thank you for your reply
