It depends on what year Your Ford Expedition is: Up until 2014, from 1996, it came standard with a V8, but Ford started going with a smaller 3.5L EcoBoost V6 starting back in 2015. When Ford equipped this with a V8, it was their own Triton 2, with either A4.6L or 5.4L SOHC configuration. The 4.6L engines maxed out at 240 hp and 291 pound feet of torque, while the 5.4L was able to higH260 hp and 350 pound feet of torque. These engines were 4-speed automatics, with a 2-speed BorgWarner and a transfer case on 4x4 modles.

Expedition is only available in v6.. I just sold my 2006 King Ranch V8 Expedition..owned only Fords since my 1979 F 150 i had in HS. Still have 2014 F250 and 1997 F Super Duty. Had several Fords along the way. COULDN'T GET A FORD SUV like we wanted so threw up in my mouth and bought the GMC Denali Yukon... First vehicleI have ever owned or bought that wasn't a Ford. Got to be honest really really pleased with GMC so far.

Love the new Expedition but can't get a V8 in it. So will be looking at the Chevrolet and GMC lineup to get that.

What I want doesn't seem to be available 2023 Ford Expedition Max with a V8 with approx 550+ HP For a family of six. Med and long road trips And all the safety features that are available

The ford expedition previously came equipped with a v8 engine from 1997 until 2015. Since then the expedition uses a 3.5 Liter ecoboost v6 engine.
