The 2009 Ford Focus has a timing chain that doesn't really require replacement as long as You maintain the engine. If You do someone manages to break the chain then You will need to have it replaced, as the car can't function without it. A timing chain will run You between 50 and 100 dollars. Putting it on Yourself will save You money, but if You have a shop do it then You will need to spend another 100 dollars on average. If You order a chain online make sure You do not get a cambelt, as a lot of places like to call both timing chains and belts cam belts, and if You get a timing belt it won't help You.
