To be able to connect with bluetooth requires that You have it enabled both on Your phone and on the Honda CR-V. While You've got the car in park, turn the ignition to the ON position and go to Settings and then Phone on the Audio system's display. You'll find an entry labeled bluetooth Device List. You should see Your phone listed here, or there'll be an option to Add a bluetooth Device. Now, I'm assuming You've actually enabled bluetooth on Your mobile at this point. Either select Your phone from the list, or try finding the Honda from the bluetooth interface on Your mobile. If it previously worked and no longer does, try removing the bluetooth entry from both the vehicle and Your phone, and then rebooting Your mobile, and turning off the CR-V's ignition, and then turning it back on, and try pairing them together again.

If your phone is not connecting to your honda cr-v you will want to use the settings menu to clear the device from the bluetooth memory and re-pair the device.

I’m having similar trouble. I disconnected my device from the crv because it wouldn’t transfer off Bluetooth when I didn’t want it connected. Now, I’m trying to pair it again. It shows that it’s paired but greyed out in the “add Bluetooth device” menu. It seems like it thinks it’s paired, but it doesn’t automatically connect and doesn’t show up on the device list when I want to connect.

Hello everyone, I just experienced the same thing however after trying to figure it out I was selecting the wrong button in the menu. Just select source and then select the Bluetooth button on the screen and select your music like Pandora, Spotify, etc and you should hear your music. Make sure your phone has Bluetooth on as well.

2018 Honda CRV. Lately I've been getting messages " can't connect smartphone to Bluetooth only when I'm trying to use Android Auto with phone plugged into necessary Data USB port" It worked fine until a recent operating system update on my phone now it won't connect to the Bluetooth if I have it plugged into that data port which sucks because it's the only way I can use Android order which right now I can't use because if this Bluetooth issue.

Delete your phone from the Honda. Turn off phone and Honda. Turn both back on. Have your phone search for Hands Link and it should show a code that should match Hands Link code that will now show on the Honda.

My Android phone stopped working last week. It was linked ever since I bought it a few months ago. Then one day while driving I could hear my phone alerting me to something over and over again. I pulled over to see what was going on and the phone was asking for the password to link it to my CRV. I used the passcode and It kept saying it was rejected. I followed all of the above instructions including deleting my phone from the phone list. When I tried to re-pair it again, it says no phone found. I called Honda and they said to reset the whole audio system. I am a little nervous about doing that. Has anyone tied that? Joayn, I agree with you that it must be some Android update since it worked one day and then not the next.

Pixel 6a will not connect via Bluetooth to Honda CR-V 2013. I found that by changing the default Bluetooth name of the phone from Pixel 6 to Pixy the phone will connect. It requires that the original Pixel 6 is deleted from the vehicle. Then Pixy will connect.

MsRenay: Update: I did follow the above instructions for delinking it from my phone (it was not linked) and all phones from the car. Shut down the car, restarted it, tried to link the phone (failed), but when the link was initiated from the phone, it found it, and I think I am whole again (will try a map in the morning). Ps. There was a link for supported phones, and mine was not on it. I have a LG Stylo 5 (android 10.0), and it works, so I guess the list may not be accurate nor complete. Thanks to all that provided the hints and things to try. Too bad that the car system does not step one thru the process when it fails to find a phone it previously knew.

MsRenay; same here for my 2017. And since my phone worked with the car (including showing google maps when using a usb cable), and then it stopped (same phone). I suspect that an android update was installed (my phone is on auto-update) and now the honda does not recognize the device (just an educated guess).
