Resetting the anti-theft system in a Toyota 4Runner is very easy to do. It will only take around 5 to 10 minutes of Your time. The first thing You need to do is go to the driver's side of Your vehicle. Do not get inside, just remain outside the door. Using the buttons on Your key fob, push both the unlock and lock options at the same time. There will be an extended beeping sound emanating from the vehicle when You do this. Finally, locate the valet switch, and turn it on and then off very fast. This can be found near the release for Your hood. Doing this will activate the anti-theft system to fully reset.

To reset the anti-theft system, turn the ignition to on. Hold unlock on the keyless device. Turn the valet switch on and off.
