To change one of the front indicator light bulbs in a 2006 Ford Focus You first need to remove the small Torx head (6 point star shaped) screw. Once the screw is out, pull the lens out of its socket, just enough to remove the bulb. Rotate the harness counterclockwise about a quarter of a turn to release it from the lens and pull it out. Now grasp the bulb and rotate it counterclockwise about a quarter of a turn and pull it out of the socket. Insert the new bulb and rotate it clockwise about a quarter of a turn. Insert the bulb and harness into the lens and rotate it clockwise about a quarter of a turn to lock it in place. Insert the lens into the hole and replace the screw.

Make sure they turn off your lights. Raise the hood to replace an indicator at the front. Take the bulb out of the indicator socket straight away and discard it. For hatchback models, open the tailgate to replace a rear light lamp. Twist the light socket in the counterclockwise direction completely, and pull it out of the light assembly. Open trunk lid on sedan models to replace a rear indicator bulb. Pull the light assembly away from the car from the outside of the vehicle.
