Most vehicles use a device known as an odometer to track mileage. To find the odometer on the Silverado, check the dashboard. You should see the odometer towards the middle. If You cant recognize it, try consulting Your ownership manual. This should give You a better idea of where exactly You should be looking. Odometers calculate wheELRotations and then divide them by the time the car has been in motion to give users the mileage. If You wish to reset the odometer, put the key into the ignition and set it to RUN. Then, push the reset button five times. Then, hold down the reset button for 30 seconds and Your odometer should reset itself.

On a 2009 silverado 2500, there is a button on the upper right dash behind the steering wheel. Pushing it will make the mileage and other information appear under the RPM dial.

How do I adjust the current mpg display on my 2015 GMC Sierra? It’s currently set at 25 miles but I’d like more of a longer range calculation.
