Checking the transmission fluid in the 2001 Ford Explorer is very simple. Before checking the fluid level You should run the engine for a little bit to get it up to a normal operational level. Next just to use the hood release on the driver side of the vehicle to open up the hood. Find the transmission fluid dipstick which is kind of in the center/top of the engine. It's easy to spot because the handle should say "trans fluid" on it. Pull the dip stick up and wipe it off. Put it back in and remove it and see where the fluid has gone up to on the dipstick and add more fluid if necessary. -

To check the transmission fluid in a 2001 ford explorer you should take the following steps: turn on your vehicle. Locate the dipstick for the transmission fluid. Remove the dipstick, touch the fluid, and move it around your thumb and forefinger. Wipe of the dipstick with a rag, then return it the vehicle.
