Checking the transmission fluid in a 2005 Ford 500 is easy to do. The firSTStep You will need to take is going to the front of Your vehicle, and popping open the hood. Next, look into the engine bay, to the left or passenger side of the engine block. There You will see the transmission. Just above the transmission You will find the reservoir, with a small dipstick protruding from the top. Remove the dipstick and dry it off with a cloth. Re-insert the dipstick into the reservoir, and remove it a second time. Check the amount of fluid on the stick, and determine if a refill is needed. If so, You will need to pay between $3 and $23 per bottle of ATF 4 or Dexron VI fluid.

To check the transmission level on a 2005 ford 500, open the hood and remove the transmission dipstick. Wipe the dipstick off and then enter the dipstick to check the level.
