To check the transmission fluid in the 2007 Ford Sport Trac, watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUP-nOsoJMA The transmission fluid needs to be replaced every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Along with fluid changes, terrible sounds will come from the transmission. Old transmission fluid will be awful to the ear. A worn out torque converter will cause a headache. The transmission is one of the most crucial parts of the vehicle. You will come into issues at some point. The gears can become stuck. There could be jerking. Hard shifts may arise and that is no good. You might experience shudders. Delayed shifts will cause acceleration problems. The transmission could slip. If the transmission fluid leaks, that needs to be patched quickly.

To check the 2007 sport trac transmission fluid, go to the 19 mm transmission fill plug and fluid level indicator assembly close to the passenger side front part of the transmission case. There is a dipstick here that you can use.

I have an 07 as well and there is no dipstick. It's a closed system, best to have a mechanic check, as vehicle must be level and they can place vehicle on a lift.

The tranny pan empty plug has a smaller screw in the centre. If you remove it with an allen wrench, you will be able to see your ATF level... If none drips out you are either ok or too low on ATF. Any excess ATF will drip if you have excess.
