Resetting the 2002 Dodge Ram security system is easy to do. It will only take a few minutes of Your time. The firSTStep You will need to take is going to the driver's side of Your vehicle and getting inside. Next, place Your key in the ignition. Turn it into the on position, but be careful not to actually start the engine. Next, wait for about ten to twelve minutes. At this point, the light will start blinking, then it will disappear. Turn the key back to the off position. You should wait about 5 to 7 minutes before starting You engine. When that happens, the security system should be reset.
There is a hidden reset button on the left side of the hood release. Pressing down the button for 10 seconds will reset the alarm while you have the key on the accessory, not fully engaging a start

To reset the security system in the 2002 dodge ram, put the key in the ignition, and turn it to the on position. Wait 10 min for the light to blink and go out. Now turn the key off and wait 5 minutes.

I didn’t find any hidden button on the hood release I have a ram 2500 it is diferent?
I'm dealing with this bs now , there is no oem button on the hood , thats aftermarket, does not work anyway unfortunately, My issue is i was testing my truck with my computer and stupidly left the car in the on position. Now the pos dodge factor alarm will not reset, if tried many different things , next ill remove my aftermarket alarm.

The suggestion of key on and waiting 10 min DID work for me. BUT, other attempts have not been successful, only due to other issues tripping the security system.
