If Your alarm system is not working in Your 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 then the first thing You will want to do is try to rest the system. Fortunately that is a pretty easy thing to reset. All You need to do is put the vehicle in the on position with the engine off and wait for the anti theft light on the dash to go out. This usually takes about a minute. As soon as that goes out start the truck. If You have consistent problems with Your alarm system I recommend takeng it in to Dodge. There could be a problem with the body control module and You will need a dealer level tool to be able to progRam a new alarm system for the truck.

You need to take the key and turn the car ignition to the on position. With the key still in the run position you need to wait ten minutes for the light to blink. Then take key out and wait 5 seconds.
My alarm system seems to be turning my head and tail lights on by itself. The reason I know it's the alarm, is that when I lock the truck it does not beep. When I shut the truck off it runs for an additional 15 to 20 seconds. The cruise control does not work. But if I play with the lock button inside the truck and press buttons on the key fob sometimes it comes back to life. I just got a brand new battery, and the lights came on by themselves again. So this time I have disconnect the positive terminal and we'll have to reconnect when I need to drive it. How do you reset the alarm on a 2005 Dodge truck 1500.
