Folding down the back seat in the Chevy Silverado is simple enough. There is latch on each side of the seat. You need to release this and they will fold. Now lift the cover of the hole they go into and slide them in. Once they are down secure the cover again and You should have no back seat.

Anyone know how to fold the backseat of a 2001 Silverado ext cab? I have the bottom seat folded up but can’t get it to fold back down. I also can’t find any latch or anything so idk what to do lol

There is a latch on the back of the seat. You can pull this and it will allow you to fold the seat down.

Actually, on my 2020 Silverado 1500, the bottom seat cushion folds up. The seat backs do not fold down.

On my 2021 the back of the seat does NOT fold down. The bottom of the seats fold up. I specifically asked when I bought it and that's what I was told.

I tried to fold down the back seats to my 2021 Silverado to install seat covers but could not do it. I read the owner’s manual on the subject and it said that the back seats can fold up and that’s it.
