If You find Yourself needing to do an anti-theft reset on the Chevrolet Sonic, You've got a few options. The simplest way that will clear a number of faults is disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 15 to 30 minutes, reconnecting it, then attempting to start the vehicle. This will fix the issue and reset the system in some instances -- however, in other instances, the faults will persist. You may need to take additional steps. First, try a spare key -- if You have one. Damage to the key can cause the anti-theft system to not recognize it. If the key is undamaged, or You don't have a spare, it's possible to put the key in the run position and wait for ten minutes. If this doesn't work, You may need to have Your Sonic serviced.
