To reset the alarm on the 2001 Dodge Ram You have two options. You can pop the hood and disconnect the positive battery cable, then leave it off for about 30 minutes. This will make the power in the CPU drain, which will force the system to reset itself the next time it comes on. The other option is to pull the fuse from the fuse boxAnd wait a similar amount of time. This will do the same thing but will be more targeted. If You pull the battery it will reset a lot of things. If You just pull the fuse then it will only rest the alarm, but You will need to look at the fuse diagram and figure out which fuse is correct.

To reset the security in a 2001 dodge ram put the key in the driver's side door lock, unlock the door, lock the door, then unlock the door again.

There's a "key dance" you can try. Close and lock all of the doors on the truck. Once all of the doors are locked You will want to unlock only the driver side door. Now insert the key into the ignition of the truck. Turn it on, then quickly turn it back off. Do this a total of three times in under 5 seconds. This should reset the anti theft. If it does not then You were not quick enough and You will need to start over by locking and unlocking the door. I seen this on another thread when my 2001 went into security mode. It worked for me.
