If the immobilizer in Your 2004 Honda CR-V is giving You issues, one of the most common causes is a failure of the immobilizer control unit fuse. If this fuse is not in proper working order, no amount of resets will cause the system to start working. Keep that in mind, so the first thing You should take a look at is the fuse itself, which is found in the engine compartment fuse panel. If You've confirmed that Your fuse is good, You can try disconnecting Your battery for 10-15 minutes. Turn on Your headlight switch to help full discharge the stored capacitor charge. If this doesn't fix Your issue, You should move on to diagnostics with the working system between the gauge assembly and the immobilizer control unit receiver.

To reset the immobilizer in a 2004 honda cr-v place the key in the driver's side door lock, unlock it, lock it, then unlock it again. Then you can place your key in the ignition and let it run for at least ten minutes.
