How do i perform the 2008 Lincoln MKZ anti theft reset?

To reset the anti theft system on Your 2008 Lincoln MKZ You're first going to want to grab Your key fob and then press down on the panic button. While You are keeping the panic button hold down You'll now take out the physical key and put it in to the ignition. Now turn the key in to the on position so that the vehicle has power for a moment and then turn it again to kill power. You're going to want to repeat this three times turning the vehicle on and off. After the third time go ahead and turn Your vehicle on again and leave it on. Your system should now be reset.

To reset the 2008 lincoln mkz anti theft system press the panic button on the key fob, then place your key into the slot in the ignition and turn it to the on position three times

My issue was the key and it had become demagnetized. I got a new key and it started immediately after that.
