The purpose of the TPMS on Your 2012 Chevy Malibu is to warn You that one or more tires is under-inflated which could produce premature tire wear, tire failure, and unsafe driving conditions. To perform a reset of the TPMS only takes a few moments. First, turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the vehicle. Now, press the "TPMS Reset" button (which is usually found underneath the dashboard) until You see the tire pressure light blink three times and then release the button. Start the vehicle and wait for at least 20 minutes for the sensors to refresh. You have completed the procedure and the TPMS has successfully been reset.

To reset the tire pressure monitor or tpms system in your 2012 Chevy malibu turn the ignition key to the "on" position and depress the tpms button, usually located under the dash, until the tpms light blinks several times. Start your vehicle and let it run for at least 20 minutes and your tpms system should be reset.

To enter the relearn mode yoI turn your car to ACC but not on. Hold the lock and unlock button at the same time until the horn blows. You’ll have to either let air out and put air back in your tires or get a TPMS relearn tool (Amazon $12) start with the front driver hold it above the valve stem and press the button until the horn beeps. Next do the same with the front passenger, rear passenger and rear driver side. Car will beep twice again when finished. You’re done. Takes about 30 mins for the car to recognize the sensors and display the readings on screen.
