To reset the anti-theft system in the 2006 Chevy Equinox, turn the key in the ignition to the "on" position and attempt to fire the engine. Return to the "on" position. The vehicle will not start if anti-theft has disabled the ignition. After 10 minutes, the flashing "security" warning light should power off. Now turn the key to the "off" position and wait 5 seconds. Attempt to restart by firing the engine. If the reset has been successful You should be able to drive the vehicle. Repeat these steps up to three times to allow the anti-theft feature to unlock the engine. At some point the Passlock Sensor Data Code should inform the ignition to power on.

To reset the anit-theft feature in your 2006 chevy equinox, turn the key in the ignition, so it's between o and acc. Then, press the reset button located on the steering wheel. When the light goes out, it should be reset.

I have a 2006 Chevy Equinox and had a remote start installed. When the remote is used, the car will sporadically start. When it doesn't, the goes into security lock down. Unable to start. Car will start if the vehicle is jump started. Tonight is the first I seen the security light flashing. After some time, the light went out and vehicle started. Any help would be much appreciated.
