To reset the security system in the 2007 Chevy Cobalt, turn the key in the ignition to the "on" position without firing the vehicle. Turn off and wait 5 seconds. Repeat this procedure 3 times over 30 minutes with the transponder key to re-calibrate the system. Alternatively, to switch the alarm off, insert the key into the driver's door to unlock and reset the immobilizer. You can also try pressing the panic button for 5 seconds followed by depressing the lock button 2 times. Walk ten feet away from the car and wait ten minutes before depressing the unlock feature on the fob twice as well. This may reset the anti-theft warning.

To reset your 2007 chevy cobalt security system you need to stick the key in, turn it to start, and let the key sit in the on position for 10 minutes, the light will start to blink. Turn the key back to off, and then turn it and it should start right up.
