To reset the anti-theft system in the 2007 Chevy Impala, turn the key in the ignition to the "on" position and attempt to fire the engine. Return to the "on" position. The vehicle will not start if anti-theft has disabled the ignition. After 10 minutes, the flashing "security" warning light should power off. Now turn the key to the "off" position and wait 5 seconds. Attempt to restart by firing the engine. If the reset has been successful You should be able to drive the vehicle. Repeat these steps up to three times to allow the anti-theft feature to unlock the engine. At some point the Passlock Sensor Data Code should inform the ignition to power on.
