To reset the anti-theft system in the 2014 Chevy Silverado, turn the key in the ignition to the "on" position and attempt to fire the engine. Return to the "on" position. The vehicle will not start if anti-theft has disabled the ignition. After 10 minutes, the flashing "security" warning light should power off. Now turn the key to the "off" position and wait 5 seconds. Attempt to restart by firing the engine. If the reset has been successful You should be able to drive the vehicle. Repeat these steps up to three times to allow the anti-theft feature to unlock the engine. At some point the Passlock Sensor Data Code should inform the ignition to power on.

To reset the theft deterrent system in a 2014 chevy silverado press the unlock button on the fob, leave the passenger door open, then press lock on the door card, and then close the doors.

The fob is the remote hanging from your key. I believe the door card means the lock button on the doors. When the fob battery died, the truck went to anti-theft. It started and I drive it a short distance to our other garage. Then the truck was dead and theft light blinking. Will be replacing the batteries in both fobs. Are the reset instructions above valid for syncing a fob with a new battery with the truck? Does the key need to be in the ignition, and if so, set to accessory or on?

If you have a 2006 or newer gm it’s supposed to have a key fob and a door card is what they call the door panel on cars since the thirties lol but yes you should have a key fob if not go to the dealership and get one. Ie im a gm tech and all gm vehicles have them since 2006 if your car is older this forum won’t apply to your car
