You should only reset the oil life on a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado after You've already changed Your oil, as the valuable service reminder is there for a reason. Using old, d***y, or broken down oil is only going to cause You problems in the long term. With that said, there are two ways to reset the oil life. With the first, You can complete the operation with an OBD-II scan tool with oil life reset functionality. If You don't have access to such a tool, You'll need to insert Your key and turn it to position "C", which is RUN/ON, without starting the engine. Press the second button from the top on Your info center, which is next to the steering column -- the car symbol -- until "OIL LIFE" shows on Your display. Press and hold the RESET button on Your info center -- the checkmark symbol -- and the display will change to "100 PERCENT".

To reset the oil life turn the ignition on without starting the engine. Quickly press the accelerator pedal to the floor three times. You should see the change oil soon light flash.
