To deactivate the anti-theft system in the 2006 Lincoln Zephyr You must use the Remote Key Unlock device. Using the key to open the driver's door and then turn the ignition lever to the on spot. If it doesn't work, leave the car and roll up all the windows, then use the key to open the driver's side. Sometimes this can be caused by removing the battery or the battery being drained of power. This could also be caused by the passlock sensor being faulty and this will cause the anti-system to go off and this will keep the car from starting. There are many different issues that could cause the system to alert and will most likely require some trouble shooting or an OBD diagnostic tool to pinpoint the issue.

To reset the anti theft on your 2006 lincoln zephyr, turn your ignition key from off to run 8 times and depress any button on your remote.

This method is bs. Doesn't work. If your Lincoln Zephyr, MkZ, etc. Any other Ford product has this problem: 1. Check all the fuses and relays, especially the start/run relay, all located in fusebox under hood. 2. Check and clean battery terminals, posts, and all the GROUND that come off battery to fender, body, engine. Two videos on youtube show merely cleaning the terminals made the car start, or changing the relay. Also there are 2 fuses involved, check them ALL. 3. Unplug the dash computers, gauge cluster plugs from firewall, and clean them with electrical spray 4. Buy a new key, have it flashed to the car, try a new key 5. The gauge cluster may have to be sent out to be rebuilt, it has a transmitter/receiver in it 6. Finally you may need a new ECM, which also must be flashed to the car. Start with the easy stuff first. The 8 clicks of key is complete bulschit
