There is no hard and fast way to "reset" the 2009 Dodge Journey's electronic stability progRam (ESP) brake assist progRam (BAS) light. You'll need to diagnose the issue and correct it, and then the light will go off on its own. Occasionally, minor codes can be cleared with an OBD-II scan tool with ESP/BAS functionality; this, however, is not recommended. The most common causes of the light illuminating are a bad steering angle sensor, a failed wheel speed sensor, or a brake switch that has gone bad. While the system is not necessary to the everyday function of the vehicle, it's a valuable safety feature to have. Therefore, it's recommended that You get the problem checked out at Your earliest convenience.

To reset the esp bas light on a 2009 dodge journey you need to turn your steering wheel twice to the right and twice to the left and then back to center.
