If You're having an issue with the anti-theft system being enabled even though You are using the right key then You'll need to try a trick with the battery so You can reset the vehicle back to it's factory settings. First remove the positive battery cable and now head inside Your vehicle and put the key in the ignition. Turn the key in to the on position and now head back outside the vehicle. You're going to want to reconnect the battery cable now and then go back inside the vehicle again and give the vehicle power again. You should be reset back to factory settings.

To reset a 2002 ford escape anti-theft system remove the positive cable from battery, place the key in the car and turn to the on position, then replace positive cable, turn key off then back on.
