There is, unfortunately, no way to reset the immobilizer on a BMW E46; if You're having issues, the problem is likely with the microchip embedded in Your key, or with the immobilizer unit itself. You can try disconnecting the battery for 15 or more minutes, or even pulling the immobilizer fuse for a similar period; this is unlikely to solve Your issue, but it's been known to clear a code or two. The most common issue is a d***y or damaged transponder in Your key. If You have a spare, see if using it will fix Your issue. If You do not, You may have to purchase and progRam another key, or have the existing key's microchip re-soldered, if You discover that this is indeed Your issue.

To reset the BMW e46 immobilizer, keep down the panic button on the FOB key for five seconds to reset the immobilizer. Then, push the lock button again, then sit ten feet away from the car for ten minutes.
Bmw is locked. Key fob lost. Can you help. 2006 model

Going to try it but I’m going to get a battery for the key first. Then I’ll be back
