Resetting Your Dodge Journey check engine light can be done by connecting it to an OBD-II scanner and using the reset feature to complete a reset. You can take it to auto outlets like Autozone, or Your local mechanic shop to be done, as they have the tool and often do it for free. You can also try resetting the overall system of the car, by disconnecting Your battery terminals and putting Your headlights on. After about 15 minutes, all power will be drained from the car, and this will trigger a reset which might clear the check engine light. Keep in mind the neither of these options will permanently disable the light, if the underlying problem causing the light has not been fixed. So at best, it is a temporary fix.
Where do I plug the obd scanner at in my dodge journey 2016?

To reset the check engine light on the Dodge Journey you will need to either reset the battery by removing the positive and negative cables, or connect an OBD scanner and do it through there.
