To get the ESP BAS light in the Jeep to go out You will likely need to perform a steering angle sensor reset. To do this start the engine, then turn the steering wheel all the way to the right until it stops. Next turn the steering wheel all the way to the left until it stops. Bring the steering wheel back towards the right until the wheels are pretty much centered. If the light remains on it could mean the sensor is bad and would need replaced. The wiring going to the sensor could be bad or corroded due to road salt or other debris. A diagnostic scan would be need to be done to find the exact cause of the issue.

To change the ESP BAS light for a jeep, switch the ignition on, but not the engine, switch the steering wheel to full lock in one direction while the Jeep is off, and turn it to full lock in the other direction. Then you shut it off completely, restart it, and after you drive a couple of miles, it's supposed to turn off.

I followed the instructions and repeated it twice. The light stayed off but came back on.
