The active bonnet technology from Mercedes Benz is a revolutionary safety feature that aims to MINImize the impact to a pedestrian if the driver were to accidentally hit them. However, it is not without its faults; the system can become tripped or the actuators improperly seated, and You'll see a dash display that reads "Active Bonnet Malfunction." When You see this, You'll need to manually re-seat the actuators under the hood. To do this, lift up the hood in the center with both hands until the two lids of bonnet lifters no longer move. When You push the lids back, You'll notice resistance. Release the bonnet and check whether the lids of the bonnet lifters are resting on the housings. If they are, You may close the bonnet -- the reset is complete.
