To perform a Mercedes transmission reset , begin by inserting the key into the ignition and turning it to the run position, but do not start the engine. Now press down and hold the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor, You will feel the button behind the pedal activate. After 15 seconds, while keeping Your foot down on the gas pedal, turn the key to the off position and remove it from the ignition. Now remove Your foot from the gas pedal and wait for between 2 to 3 minutes, during this time the ECU will communicate with the transmission control module, to begin the relearn process. This procedure does not reset the transmission, it puts this transmission in a relearn mode which will use Your driving style to control the shifting and other transmission functions.

To reset the transmission adaptive learning feature in a Mercedes, turn the key to on without starting the engine. Press the gas pedal to the floor. Wait a few seconds and then turn the ignition to off while the pedal is still pressed down. Release the pedal, wait for 2 minutes, and then start the engine.
