To turn off the Auto/Start stop feature on the Chevy Equinox You can follow the steps listed here - Start the EquinoxAnd shift the gear to L. This puts the transmission into Manual Mode. Use the + and “ buttons on the top of the gear shift to change the range of gears up to 9 as You drive. This number should show on the display located on the instrument panel. Thats all You need to do and Chevy did not make a button to shut it off and this is the only way. If this does not work You may need to take the car into the dealership and get the vehicle manually done by the dealership diagnostic tool.

To disable auto start stop in a chevy equinox hit the start/stop button on the dash until the light on the dash goes off.
Having the front demister on will negate the Auto Off but only if the Air Con is off. The fan comes on full with the demister, but it can be scaled back.

You can also disable it by having the air conditioner on or shirt gear shifter into N right before u stop but remember to shift it back into D before u start moving again, I'm not sure if this hurts transmission or puts wear and tear on transmission. I really hate that auto stop feature it saves no gas just hurts your starter.
