There is no simple way to disable that auto start stop in a 2014 Chevy Malibu. In an effort to improve fuel economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions General Motors decided to not allow people to disable the start stop system in their vehicles. The only way that You can turn the system off easily is to open Your hood, then start the engine, then close the hood. This can trick the ECU into thinking that someone is inspecting the engine so that it won't turn off. There are also third party adapters on the market that can trick Your vehicle's ECU, but none of these are authorized or endorsed by Chevrolet.

There is a button on the bottom of the middle console, below the shifter. Hit the button to turn the auto stop off.
My ‘14 Malibu has the same problem with only 87,500 mi. Which means if GM doesn’t come up with a fixI’m out half it’s resale value!

Turn your 4 way flashers on a you’re coming to a stop and that will prevent the auto off from happening.
