The Chevy Silverado and most vehicles have a child lock on the passenger or back seat doors to prevent it from opening from the inside. You can turn off the child locks by opening each door and locating the latch assembly on the side of the door jamb. There will be a small switch and You will be able to slide the other way to disable the child locks. The child lock is great if You have Young children because it will make it so the kids cannot open the door under any circumstance from the inside when the vehicle is in motion. This lock is on all modern cars and most of the time is enabled on all doors when You purchase it from a dealership.
