The Nissan Sentra should be able to last You over 150,000 to 200,000 miles when You do regular maintenance on it. Keeping up with regular scheduled services like oil changes is the best way to keep Your car running for a long time. When You take Your car in for regular maintenance it also gives the mechanic working on it a chance to inspect the car and make sure that there are not any small problems that could develop into bigger ones. The main problem with Nissans from the mid 2000s is the CVT. These have been known to fail and depending on the age and mileage it may total out the car so be sure to keep an eye on any rough shifting between gears.

Expect some major repair nearing 75K miles, timing chain replacement near the 100K mile mark. If you have CVT then expect transmission replacement anywhere after 80K+ & engine replacement approx 200K-300K miles unless you drive like a granny & are diligent about maintenance ie oil changes and tune ups. In essence, a Nissan can last you a lifetime if you choose to take care of it well & replace parts as needed.

I have a 2006 is Nissan Sentra 1.8L base model. I bought it with 17000 milis In 2007. I have not replaced anything in the motor including The alternator. It has over 222,000 miles on it. I've changed the oil every 7 to 10000 mile My car started making a humming noise at 200000 miles I thought it was the motor but it was just a will bearing This car and my eyes I would consider Is to be bulletproof. I have been selling cars for over 25 years so I would know
