The suspension is comfortable at highway speeds, interior materials are good for the price and there’s a lot of standard safety technology.

The engine is slow compared to other small cars, the stereo system is out of date and the brakes feel weak.

New 2020 Nissan sentra; comfort, style, convenience.
I have never owned a sedan before, until now I have always driven an SUV or a crossover. For a sedan, the 2020 sentra has an incredible amount of interior space and trunk space! Whether you have a short commute, like me, or do a lot of highway driving, this car can zip, or it has an awesome eco feature to save even more on gas mileage. For a 10 gallon tank, I save money and get the same amount of mileage as I did in my 2013 rogue with a bigger tank. This car has a sleek design as well, and while I haven't had it long I have had no performance issues and think it will be a great car for the next few years!

2020 Nissan sentra custom interior.
This car is awesome with custom interior design. It also has XM radio. Heated seats. This car has a backup camera. Also when your on the highway it beeps if you try to get over and there is a car in your blind spot. My favorite part about the car is on the highway the lights will go from bright to dim whenever cars are coming. I've never had any problems. This car has really great gas mileage and it looks very stylish but also big enough for a family.

I just bought my 2020 sentra car at Nissan and I am happy to say that I am pleased with the my decision to choose sentra car. The features are amazing and I enjoy driving it. Be sure to check it out at Nissan if you are thinking of getting a new car. I have no problems with it so far because it is still new and I do not think it will have any major problems later. It is reliable and has cruise control feature which is awesome and a backup camera. It is performance is 100% and it is very comfortable for car lovers. I didn't regret buying it from Nissan they offered me a great deal and I couldn’t be more happy so check them out for great deals on vehicles.

One thing about this vehicle is the interior design incredible sport look to it.
The performance of the vehicle is incredible. I fell really safe driving this car everywhere. It has so many safety features and looks so beautiful. I have not had any trouble with the car. It is my primary car which means I have to use it everywhere I go plus I travel a lot. The gas on the car lasts a while and it does not take a lot to fill up the tank.

Fuel efficient and comfortable.
It is very sleek. Drives smooth. Has a lot of safety features such as blindspot protection. Nicely compact to fit 5 people. It buzzes whenever over the speed limit. It is fast and very fuel efficient. I love my vehicle and would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable efficient family car.

The best car on the market!
I love the features of this car. There’s a sunroof, heated, quilted, leather interior, and circular rotating vents for the ac. The touch screen radio and cell phone features help me keep my eyes on the road since it is so quick. I love everything about this car and I am so glad I have it!

One cool thing about the car is that the high beams are automatic.
I have had it for about 7 months now. The car is very roomy and comfortable. Drives smooth. Haven't had any problems besides a nail in a tire which was my fault. Only thing I didn't like was it didn't come with a sunroof or heated seats. Other than that, I love it and would recommend it to anybody looking for a new car!

Massive improvements from older Sentras.
The interior is very open creating a large space that is very comfortable for both the driver and the passengers. There is a lot more space for storage as well in this model verses even the older Sentras. The safety features of the car make it almost not even a thought as it will stop you if you get too close to someone or alert you that you are drifting into a lane if that occurs.

Nissan sentra is a very reliable car and is good for small families.
Great running car very reliable. It also has accident detection that will make a sound if you get too close to the cars and it also has a lotta features that accommodates phones. What I would recommend is making the Nissan sentra more bigger for people who are tall.

Great all around car, perfect for a small family.
My only real complaint is it is very compact. I am 6'2" and it is slightly cramped to drive. Other than that it gets great gas mileage and has a lot of features that I really like. Carplay in particular is a game changer. I used this vehicle for ridesharing, it is about as dependable as it gets.

Fairly pleased with this vehicle.
I have never had any issues with my car. It drives smoothly. I get good mileage to the gallon. It takes a little while for the ac to kick in and it does not circulate too well to the back seat. The trunk is a decent size. I wish the car had a CD player.

What Do Critics Say About the Nissan Sentra?

  • Consumer Reports says the new Sentra stands out as one of the best compact sedans, with good owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the Sentra at 3.5/5, praising the comfortable cabin, but doesn’t like the weak brake feel.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the 2020 Sentra a 4.2/5, enjoying the advanced safety technology, but owners don’t like the slower performance than other small cars.

What Common Problems Does the 2020 Nissan Sentra Have?

Common problems found on the 2020 Nissan Sentra include the braking system activating without warning, the rearview camera not turning on, along with the headlights failing. Overall, these problems are relatively similar to other compact cars on the market, leading to average repair bills as they age. The Sentra also has improvements from the previous generation.

The braking system activating without warning is the most common complaint from 2020 Nissan Sentra owners at around 15,000 miles. Usually the problem is caused by a damaged automatic braking sensor, which costs around $350 to replace. There’s also a chance that the problem is caused by a software issue, which Nissan dealers will usually update for free since it’s safety related.

The rearview camera not turning on is another issue reported by Sentra owners in the first 1,000 miles. The problem is caused by a software glitch which prevents the camera from displaying an image on the central screen. There are software updates available for the system which most dealerships will install for free, while some charge around $50.

The headlights failing has also been reported on some 2020 Sentra models at roughly 5,000 miles. Worn-out fuses are the most common source of the problem, which cost around $5 to change. There are also some burnt-out bulbs, which cost around $35 each to replace.

There are two recalls on the 2020 Nissan Sentra, which is similar to many other compact cars on the market from the same year. The most serious recall is for bent tie rods, which Nissan will replace on affected models for free. The second recall is for headlights being improperly aimed, which Nissan dealerships will also fix for free.

How Long Will the 2020 Nissan Sentra Last?

A well-maintained 2020 Nissan Sentra can last around 200,000 miles, which is roughly 100,000 miles less than the long-lasting Toyota Corolla. Regular annual maintenance costs are similar to other small sedans at $400 per year, according to data provided by Repair Pal.

As a used 2020 Nissan Sentra reaches 100,000 miles and depending on the vehicle history owners should be prepared to replace the neutral safety switch for $120, A/C pressure sensor costing $225, along with the brake master cylinder which is roughly $400.

How Is the Technology?

Entertainment technology is great in the 2020 Nissan Sentra compared to other compact cars with a standard 7-inch touchscreen. There’s an optional larger 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Standard safety technology is excellent, offering more standard advanced driver assistance features than other compact cars with:

  • Forward collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Rear cross traffic alert
  • Driver drowsiness monitoring
  • Rear-seat reminder
  • Pedestrian detection
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Lane departure warning
  • Rearview camera

Optional upgrades include adaptive cruise control, along with a surround-view parking camera system.

Is the 2020 Nissan Sentra a Good Value?

Yes, the 2020 Nissan Sentra is a good value since it’s cheaper than a lot of other compact cars while offering improved reliability ratings from earlier years. The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $17,990 to $20,998, making it less than a Honda Civic or Mazda3. When new, the price range was $19,310 to $21,650. Depreciation is similar to other small cars, losing about 10% of its current value per year.

What are the Different Models of the Nissan Sentra?

There are three versions of the 2020 Nissan Sentra available from the base S model, all the way up to the more well-equipped SR model. The Sentra only comes with front-wheel drive.

S is the entry-level model with:

  • 16-Inch Steel Wheels

  • Dual-Zone Climate Control
  • Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel
  • 8-Inch Touchscreen
  • Six-Speaker Audio System
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

SR is the flagship model which includes:

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The eighth generation of the Nissan Sentra was introduced for the 2020 model year.

2015: USB and Bluetooth standard on all models.

2016: Minor exterior styling changes to the bumpers, new driver information display.

2017: New SR Turbo model introduced, larger center console added.

2018: Standard emergency automatic braking on all models.

2019: Standard Nissan Connect infotainment system on SR, SL and Nismo models.

2020: Fully redesigned for the eighth generation with new engines, safety tech, and styling.

2021: Wi-Fi hotspot added, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all models.

How Does the Nissan Sentra Compare to the Competition?

The 2020 Nissan Sentra is a decent compact car, the predicted reliability is a bit worse than some other small cars on the market, but it’s a worthwhile choice to look at for shoppers on a budget.

The Nissan Altima is a larger sedan from Nissan which is about $2,500 more. Passenger room is better in the Nissan Altima, while the Nissan Sentra comes standard with more advanced safety technology. We recommend the Nissan Altima since the extra money for the added practicality is worth it.

The Toyota Corolla is another compact car which costs around $4,000 more. Reliability ratings are better in the Toyota Corolla, while the Nissan Sentra offers more responsive steering. We recommend the Toyota Corolla since it’s one of the longest-lasting compact cars on the market.

Do Owners Recommend the Nissan Sentra?

Failure of steering rack
I absolutely loved my Nissan Sentra for the gas mileage, comfort and handling. At 35,000 miles I began to experience issues with vibration in my frontend. Before, it was out of warranty. I was told it was caused by the tie rod end which is under recall and that they were waiting for a replacement part. The issue continued to become worse. The vehicle was inspected three times, by Nissan certified technicians at Nissan Dealership, with no change in what was wrong with the car. I was repeatedly told my car was safe to drive. I turned into my driveway, at a low rate of speed, and the steering rack popped leaving my car unsafe to drive. I am currently battling Nissan now to repair an issue that began before my warranty went out and continued until complete failure of the steering rack..

Nissan Sentra is a disposable car
We meticulously maintained our 2014 Nissan Sentra including changing the transmission fluid at 30k with genuine Nissan CVT fluid. Despite our best efforts the transmission failed out of warranty at 66k. The cost to replace the transmission was $5k. We donated it.

No problems. Double feature ac/heat for driver and passenger. Great mileage on highway and street. Runs smooth with no issues. Great sound system as well. Can go into eco mode to help with gas mileage when driving a long distance and can turn into a sport mode to go “fast”. Not too low to the ground and can see clearly out windshield and back window.

I love the comfort of my car. It is a little more sporty than my last car. It has a decent size screen for the map/radio/calling features. I have had the car for over 6 months, it's a great car. Its 2 inches wider and longer which makes a huge difference. The 2020 trim makes it look like a mini maxima. 0-30 is slow but 30-60 is very quick, specially in sport mode. My inner trim makes it look like a mercedes-benz which was rare to see such luxury for a sentra in the past. (I previously had a 2016 sentra sr).

I love the interior of my Nissan sentra. The screen display is touch screen and easy to navigate. The speakers sound very nice and the seats are comfortable. Plenty of space inside to store things and also for people to sit. The outside of the car also looks stylish. It drives well and I get an average of 35 mpg.

2020 sentra sporty and efficient.
The Nissan sentra is a very sleek and sporty looking car. The rims on the sentra are gorgeous. This car has so many features, including apple carplay and Sirius XM radio. It also has a rear camera and light up sensors to detect if you are drifting off the road and lao sensors for passing cars who may be in your blind spot; too much to list. If you chose this car, you will not be disappointed!

2020 white sentra is amazing.
Performance is incredible, interior is amazing, love the base, love having apple carplay. My last sentra was a 2015 and now having a 2020, it made me realize how much I loved having a sentra! The new body style is nice, and it looks like the size of an Altima.

Nissan sentra 2020 good review.
The 2020 Nissan sentra is a very reliable, good car. It has incredible gas mileage, I can get up to over 40 miles per gallon and the tank does not need to be filled up very often despite how small it is. It has a lot of room in the cabin and the trunk for comfortable riding and lots of storage to fit a lot of luggage. It also can go pretty fast and accelerates well.

Overall amazing. Everything about this car screams drive me.
It is a very different experience driving this car vs past cars. It is luxurious and efficient. I love this car for many reasons. The seats are heated. The windows are tinted for sun protection and it is spacious for my kids. It gets great mileage. It is also very safe. I think the sound system is amazing especially when listening to my favorite songs.

Overall, good reliable car.
The look of the car is very nice. The headboard, however, is pretty high and as someone who is 5'3', I have trouble looking over it. The car runs very smoothly, particularly cruise control. The trunk is pretty spacious. The automated system is not always clear and the touch screen can require some forceful pressing.

Great, reliable and stylish car.
It is been a great vehicle. Drives well and is very reliable. Would have liked to have apple play or the ability to cast the map from phone onto screen. Amazing cooling/heating system. Great trunk space and good gas mileage. I really love driving this car’.

Nissan sentra 2020 buy warranty advice.
My car was very affordable and works great, however some features I do not like are:1. There are very minimal features on dashboards. 2. There is only 2 spots to connect a phone to. 3. Nissan warranty does not cover important things like after market windshield replacement calibration. So make sure you pay the extra for the Nissan glass, otherwise looking at $500 to calibrate an aftermarket glass. And this if left unattended is something that will start issues with car, like weird noises.

We love our car and hop y’all do the same.
I love our car. It is a very stylish car and roomy. All the features that come with the car makes it great. The camera in the car is clear and the headlights are the crystal white ones and they are some bright headlights. And we got the electric blue color of our car and we get many nice words about our car.

One of the nicest cars I've owned.
Reliable, great comfort, I am small and I can see over the dashboard! Quiet when sitting idle, I have had to check to see if the car was actually on, plenty of room in middle console area, easy Bluetooth set up, steering wheel fits nicely in hands and easy to use controls while driving.

Nissan sentra perfect for first time family’s.
My 2020 Nissan sentra is super spacious! I have a 10 month old son and he has so much room in the back seat and the trunk fits all of our family necessities. I love the touch screen pad and it is so easy to use and navigate through. The safety features as well are amazing and have me a first time driver feel very confident while driving.
