The Mitsubishi Lancer has a total life expectancy oF-150,000 to 200,000 miles. This is an approximation, of course, which can be variably affected by several different things. Other than accidents or damage to the vehicle, You can expect the optimal performance from You vehicle if You have it maintained regularly. You should have the oil, power steering, and transmission fluids changed, as well as filters and components, every 6,000 miles, or 12 months, whichever comes first. In some cases, You will need to take Your vehicle in more often, such as every 5,000 miles, or 6 months.

I have 200,000 on my Lancer that drives like it’s brand new. I do not do any maintenance in fact I haven’t change the oil in 40 to 50,000 miles. Before everyone gets all bent out of shape I could care less if the car breaks down. At this point I’m enjoying this experiment.

Mine is a 2001 Lancer GLX, 300,000+ kms still runs great. Well I think the engine block which is cast iron at that time is one of the reasons why it is still reliable and with regular maintenance of the car.

Lancer mk V Evo 2 from 1995 here. 240.000 Kms. Needed some regular maintenance. Will do 50 years or 400.000 Kmsor more depending if you maintain it. Meaning exchanging necessary parts. After prohibition for emission and such in Europe will probably service well on bushroad in the Congo. Will survive me without doubt.

Just thought I'd add, I have a 95 Lancer coupe with just over 300,000kms. I love it, it used to drive like a dream when I first got it even though it came with problems, It drives like c**p honestly now because a lot of the mechanics I've taken it to end up doing a really dodgy job and break more than they fix, even brake new things on it and while it cost me $4,000 secondhand ive spent well over $15,000 in the last 11 years on it, most of that was to fix things mechanics broke after they gave it back to me "fixed". But despite its problems and setbacks it's still alive and going. With the right mechanic you can get a lot of miles out of them, I haven't found one yet but still hoping to get a lot more miles out of mine!

My 08 es has 275K miles and drives like new.. DaiIy driver and have been extending oil changes. Mitsubishis can put toyotas and hondas to shame, subaru just copied the evo, it's just that their dealers sucked. Mitsubishi was the hottest JDM maker until about 2010.
So is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo MR with 123k worth buying for 19k? I see a lot of you guys say they go for high mileage

Mine is Lancer 2010. Bought new from Oman. Up to now has anout 230 000 km (about 140 000 miles). Engine is still very good shape. Just some minors problems such as leakind some oil from reservoir voilt, had to changeSRS spring, key ignition spring, and a small water leak from radiator hose. But the major problem is that the main spate parts are not available in Tunisia.
I have a 2012 Lancer 5-Spd Man w/ over 130,000 miles. I have done standard changes over the years such as Alternator, Wheel Bearing replacement (Most Recent), Clutch, changed brakes, calipers and rotors to Slotted-drill performance mods and added Cold Air Intake. I have recently added performance mods such as Coilover kits, Sway bars (F & R), Catback-Axle Exhaust System, catalytic converter and custom headlights. It runs so lovely now. Not trying to turbo charge at all. Might as well buy a EVO from Japan. It runs even better now. My cousin has a 2011 with similar performance mods and has over 249,876 miles (403,000km). I believe they can run with consistent maintenance and until the wheels fall off.

2008 GTS, Manual. Resto-salvage because the previous owner crashed into a pole. Bought it at auction and repaired damage. Since then I've only had minor maintenence issues. New tie rods, brakes, motor mounts, belts, hoses, clutch. OD read 65k when I got it, 5 years later its at 225k. Anytime I get her serviced, she fires up and runs like new
