Of course, this is a rule of thumb and not a rule of law -- sometimes, batteries may go in a matter of a year or two, or last the lifetime of the vehicle. Generally though, You can hope for a decade or about 150,000 miles.

My 500e is a 2013 model with 37,000 miles. Eight year in and there is no sign of loss of range. If it is down 8-16 percent in range, I cannot detect it and I would think that it would be noticeable. I hope it hangs in there as this is the last year of the battery warranty.
Does anyone know how expensive it is to exchange the battery for a 500e? I am in the process of buying a used fiat 500e as our second car. It is a 2016 model, and I assume the battery will need replacement soon.

Fiat has just told me that my 1 day old Fiat 500e will need a new EV battery in 3 years time, they are try to sell me a 3 year service plan.

30k USD to replace battery, or a remanufactured one for way less. Remanufactured probably won't last long.
