The life expectancy of the Honda CR-V is totally dependent on how well it is taken care of. If it is well taken care of then it can last anywhere froM200,000 miles to over 400,000 miles or longer. If it is neglected and not well maintained then it won't last as long, maybe 50,000 to 150,000 miles if You are lucky. At an average rate of 13,500 miles driven per year, the CR-V can last around 30 years or so. One of the most important things You can do is to change the oil and the filter every so often. For the CR-V You should do a change every 3,000 to 5,000 miles for conventional oil or every 7,500 to 10,000 miles for synthetic oil.

This is fake news!! Most Honda motors are just broke in at 100,000 miles. Heck, I had a 1992 Accord with 315,000 miles on it and I drove it between Omaha and Chicago on a regular basis. Keep the oil clean and they'll run forever.

Not sure, to be honest. My 2008 crv isn't doing great- passed down from a relative. With 198,000 miles on it, it's on its 3rd engine, 2nd alternator, and last year alone it went through 2 batteries- the third is still working... Technically, I didn't get a lemon, but it sure feels like it.

Mine had 182,000 miles on it. Was going to give it to my daughter for her first car. Then it got hit. Went right out and bought another one. Don't listen to the 100- 150,000 remark. That's true for the Jeep Patriot and Nissan Rogue. But not the CR-V.

I think most people are not happy with the CTV motors compare to previous ones. As most answers above are relating to older vehicles which don't have CTV. I hear a lot of people say they would buy Honda if they would get rid of the CTV motor.

I drive a 2011 Honda CRV with heated leather seats. Has 97,000 miles, runs perfectly and rides and drives flawlessly, with plenty of power. My wife feels it’s dated, I’ve looked at new cars, but can’t bring myself to sell such a reliable and dependable car. It owes me nothing and I Don’t need the fancy upscale electronics on the newer cars. All’s I want is good, basic transportation and I think I’ve got it.

My 1997 Japanese made CR-V has 215,000 miles on her. She doesn't burn a drop of oil. The upholstery is barely worn and for the most part still looks and feels new. I love the car so much I am slowly replacing every single part of the frontend and suspension. I believe I'll get another easy 100,000 mile or more.

I have 2 Honda crv ex l s . ( A 2007 and a 2008 ). The 2007 now has 158,000 miles on it while the 2008 has 105,000 miles on it. They are both very well maintained. They run as smooth as they did when they were new off of their respective assembly lines. The 100-150k lifespan is just not accurate.

This website always pops up the lowest ranking as the best/main answer in Google Search. Probably to stir the water and generate clicks. I noticed this when checking reliability of other crossover SUVs. It's hard to believe that any car lasts as little as 100-150 miles.

I have a 2004 CR-V with a manual transmission. Oil changes are always done, the car has over 250k miles on it and it runs like a top. Other than the usual wear and tear parts, the only issues with older CR-V's is the fragile AC system and the VTEC solenoid gasket wearing out. Otherwise, a bulletproof machine. I highly recommend getting one, even if you only use it as a backup vehicle, but especially as a winter car.

Bought 2nd hand 2007 CRV EXL AWD in mid 2016 with 108,000 mile on it. Today's reading 190,000 miles. Here are the items I replaced during 5.5yrs and 82K miles: 2 batteries, 1 alternator, 1 all spark plugs, 1 AC compressor, 2 door actuators(doors won't lock), rear suspension Arm, all 4 tires, 1 oil pressure pipe (started leaking around 175K miles), 1 windshield (got stone chips). I did solo road trip from Sacramento, CA to Jacksonville, FL and Return, around 7K miles in 9 days. Thankfully this car never failed me on mid road. Still in great condition and runs smooth. I timely change oil + filter.

Bought my 08 CRV 132k miles. Was hoping for better luck regarding repairs but it had been in a collision and it looked like a lot of the work was just done quick and cheap to sell it. Bought it from a dealer. Still, after doing radiator, front suspension, spark plugs, wires, coil, power cable, solenoid, engine flush, and most recently PCV and breather hose (something I was able to figure outand do myself! 45 bucks....YAY!) SHE SOUNDS GREAT! Oh, a little squeak in the rear when she bounces. Hopefully just sway bar bushings.Fingers crossed! 176K on her. I can honestly say that in spite of the repairs she runs great and I think she's worth taking care of. If I can get her to crack 300k milesits worth it.

Bought 1999 CR-V new. Almost 310,000 miles. Illinois weather has rust on rear fenders due to salt and poor fender design. Interior in good shape. Replace AC compressor, transmission, crankshaft,s distributor, driver's window motor, rear passenger door lock, rear tailgate latch, oxygen sensors, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gaskets twice. Clock doesn't work. Has slight oil seepage but mechanic said don't worry about it and just add 1 quart between oil changes every 3000 miles. Engine does not smoke, average 22 to 23 mpg, has good power to change lanes, nice suspension, radio/CD still works, and can replace 4 tires for about $500 on sale.

Our’s is 2005 CRV SE and its on 165K so far no major issues just parts replacement like whole break kit on rear and CV axle joint replacement and next to replace is front break kit other than that no issues at all. We always service it to honda shop and place OEM parts most of time. Who knows how long it will last but we will keep it as long it will run safe. I guess its a matter how you are maintaining your car service on time and oil change regularly.
