This is enough cargo room that You should have no issue going on larger shopping trips but not so much room that You'll be able to haul a lot of furniture. Larger mattresses will not be able to fit but You should have no problem with a full or twin size mattress when the rear seats are down.

Why does no one answer the question? Lenght would be in inches not cubic feet. Cubic feet is a measure of volume not length.

I just measured my 2021 Escape PHEV. From the rear of the front seats (in the middle of their fore-aft range) to the rear of the cargo area with the rear seats folded and the hatch closed is 65".

I moved a 72" sofa table on its side and the hatchback closed all the way. I think the width was around 20". That's with back seats down of course. I'm going to attempt to move a "bed in a box" style queen foam hybrid mattress that's 80" long and use bungee straps to keep the hatch down. I think it can be done if I fold the mattress like a taco.
I get so frustrated when someone asks how long can something be to fit in the cargo area of a Ford escape with the seats down and the door closed and all we get is stupid Cubic Metres answers..... A pair of skis is not measured in cubic meters. A coffee table is not a concern in cubic meters.... The length however is quite important and no one gives a straight answer on that? Is it 64" long, 70" long" Or somewhere in between? Come people.... Lets think logically please. Hoe long can something be and still be able to shut the hatch?
