The 2019 Chevy Silverado useS6 quarts of SAE 5W-30 oil for the V8 engine. Chevrolet recommends using synthetic oil whenever You need to change it as well. There are two main types of oil that are on the market, conventional and synthetic. Conventional is petroleum based and has been around for decades, synthetic is newer and is engineered to give You better protection for the components in Your engine and last longer. Synthetic oil only needs to be changed every 7,500 miles compared to the average 3,500 to 5,000 miles of conventional. Be sure to check Your oil at least once a month to make sure that it is full and free from debris or signs of burning.

Does not take 0w20 if it is a 2.7LT. The new 2.7 turbo takes 5w30.ALWAYS READ YOUR MANUAL AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS ON THE OIL FILLER CAP! Also, the oil filter for the 2.7 is different (the hole is larger) than for the V-6 and V-8.
