If You need to get a new transmission in Your 2012 Ford Focus then the costs will usually be $1,300 to $3,400 and that depends on whether or not You choose a new transmission or a rebuilt one. The price can also vary a lot depending on the local labor rates in Your area. Removing and replacing a transmission is a very difficult thing to do and it usually takes many hours to complete. There are many linkages that have to be disconnected from the shifter, as well as removing the entire unit from where it bolts up to the engine. I recommend that You let a professional handle the job so that You can get a warranty if there are any other problems that happen down the road.

It will cost between $250 and $550 for used transmission units and the labor is around $500 and $1200. New units are much higher (approximately $2500)

New transmission ordered today. Replacing the transmission in my sons 2012 focus is $6400. $4400 for the new transmission, with 100,000 mile warranty from Ford and $2000 labor. Without a warranty to pay for most of the cost, it wouldn't be worth it. Nothing is priced reasonably right now.
