The engine in a Honda Accord is one of the most expensive parts of the entire car. Usually replacing an engine will also require a lot of labor costs due to how difficult it is to remove and install. There are many different engine options that are on the market but in general You will be looking at $700 to $2200 for a replacement motor. This price range is so large because used motors with higher miles will be less expensive than a brand new motor that has not been driven at all. Replacing a motor may also take $800 to $1500 in labor costs as well depending on the cost of labor in Your area.

I have been doing machanic work for 20 plus years for shops and my self. The price of swapping an engine is a basic charge by hr at a stealership.. Some shops will give an estimate on how much money you can expect to pay as a general fee but that will led to other expenses like if using a 2 ND hand engine. That would be best to replace timing belt before instalation or it could run a day and snap. Or for ever. But highly recommend and if you aren't asked about that. Most engine suppliers require you to replace things like the timing belt and needed parts for that job.failure to do so will void any type of warranty supplyed by a good used engine supplyer.. And there are a lot of used engines that come out of Japan that are great motors due to there strict inspection procedures. The autos never make it pass 7 to 10 years old before replacement and at that age they have less then 50 k on them.Japan is extremely small compared to how many miles we drive around. A 10 year old car here could have a couple hundred thousand miles on it. And sound like the space shuttle taking off... Well the import engines are easy to locate on line and in about most major citys. Shop for a deal but look out for the real good deal it may be to good. I have a name of a comp that supply a lot of them type engines and the differ from sporty package engine price is the more expensive and due to availability. They litterly never make it on the shelves to sit. And a moderate shop could be with the required stuff installed to insure your investment lasts. Could be 2900.to 3400 And that's labor used import engine and new parts needed for used engine installed out the door. With some kind of written warranty on engine and labor guarantee.

I have a 2008 Honda accord and I was told an engine cost $2600 and the labor would be $3200 and the mechanic said he have to replace the radiator and do a radiator and transmission flush because it’s no need to replace the engine and not do the radiator even though nothing is wrong. The cost of the engine, radiator and the flush would be $8743 and it take 20 hrs to replace the engine.
