The cost of rebuilding a transmission in a 2004 Chevy TrailBlazer is usually a cheaper option than completely replacing it. That said it is still a very involved procedure and You will need to remove the transmission from Your vehicle to be able to replace the damaged components. You can usually expect to pay $800 to $1,400 to have a transmission rebuilt. It is not an easy job and will likely take about a week for a mechanic to do. Usually a mechanic does not know how bad Your transmission is until they actually take it apart. The debris from one broken gear could have caused more damage than You'd expect inside the gearbox.

85-120? That's completely and totally false.. I had a full bolt on RWD in JEWEL RED and the cheapest shop in my state ( OHIO ) said$2,600 - $2,800 plus tax with 3 year 30,000 mile warranty. Keep in mind that was the CHEAPEST! Rebuild available it was a well known shop that supposedly did good work but did not do work on performance vehicles.

It sure is a false answer, what planet are you living on? I had one rebuilt this past summer and we were charged 750 that was for putting some of the parts back in and replaceing the bad parts with new, it last 61 days and had to go back fixed again that was in july and today , it is doing the same way as it did before no different. Now i am looking at re manufactured.
