The 2005 Chevy Tahoe takes 28.8 oz of r134a. Being a sweaty mess is never a great time. That's why the air conditioner needs to be functioning. You will face issues with this part at some time. The motor could become faulty. An inaccurate thermostat might come about. A nasty odor from the vents will cause issues with Your comfort. A fan can become loose. A Freon leak will give You the sweats. You will come across a few annoying noises from the air conditioner. Loose mounting bolts will become a nuisance. A bad compressor will get noisy. Too much Freon will make this happen. These sounds need to be look into quickly or You will lose Your mind.

The 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe does not use Freon in its A/C system. It uses R134a, and it requires 28.8 oz. (1.8 lbs.) of it for a full recharge of the A/C unit.

Freon is like Coke, a brand name and is just 'understood' to be the refrigerant. Freon™ 134a (R-134a) refrigerant, a non-ozone depleting hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) replacement for R-12. Freon™ 134a is the standard in many mobile air conditioning (AC) units, including the 2005 Chevy Tahoe, which requires 28.8 oz of refrigerant.
